  • Healthcare

Qualified to teach with a B.Ed.(Honours) Pete Best combines his love of learning with a common sense approach to improving business performance.

Pete worked in the logistics sector for a large West Country employer where he developed resources and approaches for improving business performance through staff development.  Improvement is at the heart of everything Pete does, whether it is evaluating his own practice, reading research to keep up to date or learning new skills.

Pete is a Member of the Chartered Institute of Logistics & Transport (CMILT) and holds Lead Auditor certification for ISO 9001; he also qualified as a Training Quality Standard (TQS) Practitioner December 2010.

Tony is Managing Director and Senior Consultant for AM Lane Ltd our sister company ( He is a nationally recognised Arboricultural Consultant and H&S Adviser.

Tony has specialised in helping micro and small businesses in the landbased sector to develop their H&S systems.  A key component of this work has been the need to improve business efficiency through improved business administration.

Tony became increasingly aware that there is a demand for no nonsense business improvement advice for micro and small businesses; advice that met the individual needs of these businesses.  This with the demand for Quality Management Systems to meet ISO accreditation; primarily to improve tender prospects, prompted the start of AtBest Ltd in 2011.

A bit about Tony; In 2007 Tony was elected to the Institute of Chartered Foresters and in the same year was also elected to be a Fellow of the Arboricultural Association.  In 2009 he was elected to the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors as a professional member; one of only a handful of Arboricultural consultants to hold both chartered memberships.

Tony was awarded the Lycetts Forest Industries Safety Trophy 2008 in recognition of his contribution to health and safety in the forestry industry.  This reflects Tony's hands on practical approach to Health & Safety which emphasises the need to balance common sense, commercial reality and individual employee welfare, whilst complying with best practice.

He is now a Registered Safety Practitioner and a member of the HSE endorsed Occupational Safety & Health Consultants Register.  Tony is on the editorial board of the Arboricultural Journal.  As well as this he is an industry representative on the Lantra Sector Skills Council’s ‘Trees and Timber Group'.
